Nemanja Radulović & Khachaturian / Kodaly
The Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian is among the three most important composers of the Soviet period, alongside Shostakovich and Prokofiev. His Violin Concerto, composed in close collaboration with the famous violinist David Oistrakh, is influenced by Armenian folk music and incredibly melodic. It has become one of the favourites of Nemanja Radulovíc, the adventurous young virtuoso violinist. A year after the premiere of his opera Háry János, the Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály drew from the orchestral highlights to create a six-part suite. According to the composer, this popular orchestral work, which is highly influenced by folk music, embodies the poetic power of folklore. The promising Russian conductor Stanislav Kochanovsky will present Brussels with this concert in his indomitable conquest of the world; an unmissable event.
