‘Belgian National Orchestra’

The French cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras has to draw on all his technical prowess in Prokofiev's  Sinfonia concertante, one of the most difficult concertos for this instrument. However, he can fall back on his own expertise, the commitment of the Belgian National Orchestra and the experienced leadership of musical director Hugh Wolff. We also hear the ecstatic Sinfonietta by Janáček, the flashy Short Ride in a Fast Machine by John Adams and its soft and nostalgic counterpart, Tromba Lontana.
