‘BALKAN TRAFIK’

On Saturday the 21st of April, Balkan Trafik! offers listeners a variety of styles, a sonic patchwork typical of this unique festival. Klezmer music with the incomparable Amsterdam Klezmer Band, accompanied by the Hungarian tambouritsa ensemble Söndörgő, the most famous Romanian band Ciocărlia, living legends like Savina Yannatou, the unique heritage of Albanian iso-polyphony as performed by the Albanian National Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances, a musical meeting between Buzuki Orhan Osman and Bulgarian beatboxer SkilleR, as well as the orchestra, chorus and dancers of the Plovdiv Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts.

To kick the day off, from 2pm-6pm, make the most of the free entertainment and activities for all ages to whet your appetite for everything that Balkan Trafik! has lined up. Discover Bulgarian and Hungarian dances, Romanian glass painting and many other surprises, not forgetting two free round-table debates bringing together artists and political leaders with the aim of building closer links between Europe and the Western Balkans.
