‘Bach: Christmas Oratorio - Orchestra and Choir of the Age of Enlightenment’

10 Dec.'23
- 19:00

Jauchzet, frohlocket! Auf, preiset die Tage... Yes indeed, Jesus is born and everyone must know. Bach aptly underlines these words at the beginning of his Weihnachtsoratorium with resounding trumpets and energetic timpani. Bach wrote the six cantatas for the Christmas holidays. The cantatas have never been performed in their entirety. During this concert, you will be presented with the first, fifth and sixth cantatas. The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with conductor Masaaki Suzuki was a guest performing this masterpiece eight years ago, but will undoubtedly surprise you this time too, with a refreshing performance.
