‘Are You Web Fest?’

2018-2019

In the frame of Are You Series?

Web Fests are festivals dedicated to web and digital series which enable these short, cheeky formats to be discovered by new audiences. This second edition of ARE YOU WEB FEST? will see seven international series compete for a grand prize of €1,500, offered by the SACD. The winning series will be unveiled during the festival’s closing ceremony. The series will be screened in the lounge area of the festival before the TV series are screened.

The jury members are:
TOM SALAMA
Tom Salama was a successful fashion designer who later became a copywriter for Keshet’s promo division, working in developing content for television. He is the creator and screenwriter of the series MIGUEL, based on his personal life story. The series won the Special Performance Prize at Canneseries this year. Tom is currently writing a drama series dealing with body image. He lives in Tel Aviv with his partner and their four adopted children, who were the inspiration for this series.

BENJAMIN D'AOUST
After making two fictional shorts: Mur (Wall) (2006) and Point de fuite (Vanishing Point) (2010), Benjamin d’Aoust won the Magritte for best documentary in 2014 with La nuit qu'on suppose (The Night We Suppose). He then joined forces with Stéphane Bergmans and Matthieu Donck to co-create the series La Trêve (The Break), the success of which, in Belgium and internationally, will change the way audiences look at French-speaking Belgian series for a long time to come.
