‘Antonio Pappano’

He is known as an extraordinary conductor, but did you know he was also an instrumentalist? Take advantage of this rare occasion to discover the pianistic talents of Sir Antonio Pappano, through a musical dialogue with his colleague Luigi Piovano, first cellist of the prestigious Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. Together, they will play Brahms, but will also update lesser known Italian figures such as the cellist and composer Gaetano Braga and the composer and conductor Giuseppe Martucci, the man behind the Italian creation of Tristan und Isolde and, more generally, the popularisation of Wagner’s operas in Italy.
