Passa Porta Festival @ BOZAR

Annie Ernaux is a major figure of French literature. She made her literary debut in the 1970s with Cleaned Out. Since then, Annie Ernaux added more writings to her oeuvre, most of which are autobiographical and concerned with social issues, such as abortion (Happening, 2000), and Alzheimer’s disease (I Remain in Darkness, 1999). In 2008 her novel Les Années won several awards. Her latest narrative, Mémoire de fille (2016), goes back to the year she turned 18 and lost her virginity. Annie Ernaux is one of the guests of honor at the Passa Porta Festival, which she will conclude at Bozar during a conversation with Ysaline Parisis, journalist at Focus/Le Vif. Before the conversation, actress Virginie Efira will read excerpts from the work of Annie Ernaux.
