Compagnie Cecilia

Angelena has spent four years in prison without knowing when she will be released. She turns to humour to make life in the few square metres of her cell more bearable. She really wants to live. And, more than anything else, she wants to return from oblivion. For this play actress Mieke Dobbels drew inspiration from testimonies from our overpopulated Belgian prisons. After The Broken Circle Breakdown featuring the Cover-Ups of Alabama, Dobbels has once again gone for a no-frills story that will make you laugh and cry. You’ll feel happy you have somewhere to go home to when the play is over.
