‘Andrea Buccarella - Goldbergvariations Pure’

BOZAR Next Generation

The Goldberg Variations are as moving today as they have ever been. Bach developed over thirty variations on the very well-known aria, and cast them in an ingenious structure. The aria returns at the end to complete the cycle, dumbfounding the audience. Since Glenn Gould’s idiosyncratic interpretations, every major pianist has taken on Bach’s masterpiece. MAfestival laureate Andrea Buccerrella aims to get as close as possible to Bach’s original intent and plays the variations on the harpsichord - the instrument for which Bach originally wrote them.
