The perfectionist and the pioneer
Sir András Schiff is a free spirit. His criticism of his country’s authoritarian shift is proof. As a result, he has been ostracised from Hungarian society. The pianist/conductor is known for his probing, sincere and humble approach to the pieces he performs. During this recital, he will summon two mythical composers who suit his character: Bach, lover of precision and balance, and Beethoven, unconventional and intrepid. With his usual finesse, the pianist will bring to life the composers’ music, both passionate in their search for innovation and expressiveness.
