Vivaldi. Four Seasons
Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti’s recording of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in 2008 was so inventive and surprising, as well as being historically informed, that it has since been reissued twice. That originality led the French violinist to Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga for the dance piece they have created to the world-famous music. The cycle of four violin concertos – one for each season – never gets old, just as looking forward to the springtime and the lengthening days is something you do each year. Beyer has also performed Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos many times on concert and dance stages. You will find it impossible to keep your feet from tapping along to this swinging showpiece in which the baroque orchestra and soloists walk – or rather dance – along a finely balanced path.
