‘All Around - Mette Ingvartsen & Will Guthrie’

Drummer Will Guthrie and choreographer Mette Ingvartsen have been following each other’s work over the past years and collaborated occasionally. In this drum/dance/duo they perform live together for the first time, bringing their respective disciplines into close proximity. The result is a fusion of forms; a dance concert. In All Around the audience encircles a performance space inhabited by a drum kit, a moving light and the performers' bodies. By using a minimal and repetitive vocabulary, via spinning and turning, rhythm and speed become the main components of the performance that drives towards an ecstatic and trance-like intensity.

Will Guthrie is an Australian percussionist living in France. He plays solo applying different combinations of drums and percussion while using amplification and electronics.

Mette Ingvartsen is a Danish choreographer. Her work is characterized by hybridity and engages in extending choreographic practices by combining dance and movement with other domains such as visual art, technology, language and theory.
