‘Alisa Weilerstein & Inon Barnatan’

Add the brilliance and the full sound of the piano to the mellow, warm tones of the cello and a whole world of sound opens up. A number of composers have combined the two instruments, in the sonata for cello and piano, in a way that highlights the singing tones of the cello, which was long relegated to a mere accompanying role. These two young musicians show what can be achieved in the course of a lyrical, poetic journey from Beethoven to Barber.
