‘Alfa Mist’

Like any other artist growing up in East London around the turn of the century, Alfa Mist cut his teeth on grime and hip-hop. But those urban scenes by no means represent the full extent of his talents. A self-taught pianist, Alfa soon immersed himself in jazz and world music, developing into a well-rounded and accomplished musician. His 2017 album Antiphon is an effortless blend of soul, jazz and hip-hop beats, with instrumentation provided by a group of talented musicians from his university.
