‘ADVOCATE - Rachel Leah Jones & Philippe Bellaiche’

1 Dec.'19
- 19:00

In the presence of Lea Tsemel (advocate)

For more than 50 years, Israeli lawyer Lea Tsemel has been representing Palestinian political prisoners. A highly controversial figure in Israeli society, she is a staunch ally of the Palestinians. But for some, she defends the indefensible. This is the portrait of a woman who defies all conventions and chooses to fight for those who use whatever means to defend a freedom that has no price.

Rachel Leah Jones is an independent producer and director, who was born in California. After growing up in Israel, she went back to the United States where she studied film and photography. Before directing her own films, she worked as an assistant director and production manager on many documentaries. In 2002, she made the documentary 50 Dunam on the Moon. Advocate, which will be screened at Cinemamed this year, is her third production.
Philippe Bellaiche is a director and director of photography, born in Paris in 1967. He has worked on more than forty feature films as Director of Photography. Advocate is his first production as a co-director.
