‘21:00 ORGAN & JAZZ’

14 Sept.'19
- 21:00

The organ is not the first instrument you associate with a jazz setting. However, Jan Garbarek and Kjell Johnsen’s meditative album Aftenland shows that this can be a successful combination. On their Cycle album, soprano saxophonist Rain Sultanov and organist Isfar Sarabski, two leading musicians in the Azerbaijan jazz scene, demonstrate that the organ is deserving of its place in the jazz repertoire. The two musicians will take us on a personal journey between the past and present, dream and reality, life and death, by means of nine pieces that symbolise the phases of the cycle of life.
