Bozar will host upcoming Cultural Deal for Europe Policy Conversation

‘Culture: the Compass for Europe’s Future. Cultural Deal for Europe annual policy conversation‘ on February 4 2025, from 14:00h to 18:00h.

The 2025 edition of the Cultural Deal for Europe annual policy conversation will discuss:

(1) How can culture and cultural heritage unleash their full potential for Europe without being instrumentalised?

(2) How ambitious is Europe with regard to culture? What does a powerful cultural leadership look like? How can culture be more strategically positioned within EU policy: policy and budget-wise?

(3) How can culture and cultural heritage foster a European sentiment and a common public sphere?

(4) What can be done together to strengthen democracy and freedom at times of polarisation and divisions? What can culture do to foster democratic, free, plural, peaceful, as well as sustainable and inclusive communities?

“The EU is now about to discuss and decide on its future policies affecting culture from 2025 onward, as well as on its multi-annual financial framework for 2028-2034. The existence of these policies and programs carries a fundamental and symbolic message to the rest of the world. For the EU is perhaps the only region that actively supports transnational creations and co-productions, as well as the mobility of artists from all backgrounds, including those in exile.”
- Christophe Slagmuylder, CEO and Artistic Director at Bozar
