This event is part of 'Disruptive Harmonies', a series of avant-garde concerts held in the newly refurbished Terarken hall. With Farida Amadou, Jlin and Avalanche Kaito. Three artists who are pushing back the boundaries of music through their unique point of view and innovative approach.
Bozar offers a space for expression to one of the most inspiring artists of European improvised music. Self-taught Liège bassist Farida Amadou began her career in blues, jazz and hip-hop before anchoring her reputation in free and improvised music. In her improvisations, the musician explores the multiple electroacoustic possibilities using effects pedals and innovative playing methods.
In 2018, she launched a new duo with British drummer Steve Noble, including leading collaborations with Alex Ward, Thurston Moore (ex-Sonic Youth), and free jazz pioneer Peter Brötzmann.
For her carte blanche, Farida Amadou surrounds herself with some internationally renowned musicians: Zoh Amba, the new star of free jazz, the fantastic drummer Chris Corsano, and Mariam Rezaei, who has collaborated with the likes of the Ictus Ensemble and the London Sinfonietta and caused a sensation at the Rewire Festival in 2023.
